MCAS, El Toro Documentary

Phabulous Phantom Productions is currently in the process of gathering information in the form of images and print of the Marine Corps Air Station at El Toro, Ca. I am looking for information from the beginning to the very end of the decommissioning. If anyone has been to the base recently or is planning a trip and can take some picture of the base today, especially of the old VMFP-3 squadron area, hangar and grounds, please contact me. info@rf4bphantom.com. A CD documentary is being created and dedicated in the memory of all who have served in and around this great base. Thank you.

Sunset Aviators

I would like to know the details behind this great photograph. When was it taken, who are the aviators and for what reason was it taken. If anyone has any information feel free to chime in. I think it is one of the best shot I have seen of the squadron unless someone know of any more they like.

Uss Midway Rf-4B Display

I would like to someday take a trip to see the USS Midway and I know many of you already have made that trip. Can anyone tell me if there is an RF-4B Phantom on display or if you know if one is being planned. I came across a website on the USS Midway aircraft restoration team that are restoring aircraft that will be on display on the USS Midway in the future. I did not see any RF-4B and never saw any in any photo tours of the museum since. Does anyone think that is strange since the Marine squadron had a strong showing on that ship. Maybe we could start a rally cry of our own for this cause.

RF-4B Boneyards and Museums

I know where most of the RF-4B's are today like the aircraft at AMARC which I have documented on this site. Museums include Havelock, one in front of Cherry Point O-Club, Florida, Mirramar, China Lake, even one that was made into a Blue Angel. I am looking for information on any that are still sitting in a field some place. I have a pic of the final Black bird some place in Cherry Point that was being stripped for parts. Does anyone know what happened with this aircraft. This is an example of the kind of information I am looking for. Anytime anyone can supply a little info I can carry that forward and conduct my own search and complete the history. Thank you for your help.
